Hidden X-Words

It takes practice to find these 3 hidden x-words. Look for clues. If you see:

No x-word visible (the verb looks like the base form) = DO is hiding in the verb

S on the end of the verb = DOES is hiding in the verb

ED at the end of the verb or irregular past = DID is hiding in the verb

You can find hidden x-words by changing a statement to a yes/no question or to a negative form like this:

Trunks Yes/No Questions Negative Trunks
Birds make nests in all kinds of places. Do birds make nests in all kinds of places? Birds don’t make nests in all kinds of places.
This gourd has a nest inside. Does this gourd have a nest inside? This gourd doesn’t have a nest inside.
The baby birds hatched already. Did the baby birds hatch already? The baby birds didn’t hatch yet.
